980ti or 980sli

So i currently have a GTX 980 and im wondering should i sell it and buy a single 980ti or should i buy another stock 980. I like playing games on high settings at 1440p and i personally think a 980sli would look nicer in my case than a single 980ti

980 sli would be faster and cheaper in this case.

Well if you're looking for looks get the 980 TI, but 980 SLI will be faster.

I'd sell it and get a 980Ti. I personally don't want to deal with SLI/CF issues.

I'd get a 980Ti simply because SLI scaling is garbage plus one of the best card you can afford is generally better than SLI of a lesser card.

Interesting results, this lead to my decision to forget Sli, sell my GTX980 and get a GTX980ti when the non reference models come out.

If you already have a 980, you should go for SLI that monster, the most common issues of SLI is scaling, so a few games it will work only the first GPU, but most AAA titles works fine with SLI.

If we're talking about aesthetics... I think SLI/CF looks far better than a single card. Or am I in the minority? I always thought 2 cards looked sexier than one.

Depends on which card it is. Some cards look better, some worse. I bet the ASUS 970 SLI edition that I keep getting ads for would look great in SLI. Nvidia stock cooler, however, looks kind of bad in SLI (In my opinion).

Yeah, I guess it does depend on the card. Though I haven't seen a system yet that looks worse with two matching cards. IMO the Nvidia stock cooler is one of the best looking cards for SLI.

 

Different tastes I suppose. I just didn't think anyone would think SLI/CF looked worse. Obviously I'm wrong
