Im moving to a new house, were there are wall Rj-45 plugs, driven by a cisco smart switch.

Im looking for a decent router and access points to go with the setup.

For a router, I was looking at something like an EA4500 or similar. (needs to be dual band simultaneously, gigabit wan port, under $200)

I also need a couple of wireless access points, (connect a cable to it and have it transmit) AC?

Suggestions are welcome.

i wouldn t worry about the wifi capacity of the router as AP are supposed to provide the wireless and you don t want to make your network causing interference with itself.

(there are only 3 non overlapping 2.4,ghz channels and even if you have a ac AP, you still need to support your legacy devices)

so for your main router, you want to look at things like qos and other features,

i have no experiance with the ea4500, so idk..

as far as ap goes, get a cheaper router and turn dhcp off and give it a static ip under 192.168.0.9, on your router, make the dhcp start at 192.168.0.10 and you got a working AP that cost less than products with ap written on the package... (just plug your ethernet cable in the lan port of the ap.)

AC is still draft idk if you want to invest in that yet(not much choice on the market).

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.
