Steam Controller + Nvidia Shield Tablet

Does anyone know if the Steam controller connects via bluetooth or wifi? I want to pick up a shield tablet but the nvidia controller doesn't interest me, you guys think the Steam controller would work?

i was wondering this too. 

honestly im jsut interested in the steam controller by itself, 

gamecube and steam controller master raace. :P 

 

someone told me you couldnt play racing games on it, however you wouldnt use the touch pad like a mouse, just have the game programmed to use it like a joystick. :o:D

 

if it connects over blutooth or wifi i have reason to get a shield
