harddrive setup issues

i have two hard drives.. i 250gb seagate barracuda and another 1 tb seagate barracuda..

the 250gb hdd has my os and when i connect my second hdd it gets detected by os and shows in the explorer.. when i try to a i/o operation it unmounts... 

my config is intel dh61ww motherboard and a 450w power supply!!
