Hi there, I am making (right now I am still designing) my own case, I will post pics and taughts here so you guys maybe can catch some ideas if there are interested people  ;)

I will be making my case out of plexiglass (PMMA) al the cutting will be done with a lasercutter. The pc will be used for on my dorm where I study, so yes it is not at all a good system and yes my GPU is far too good for this system but I put him in there because otherwise I don't use it and I don't want to sell it...

You guys will see that the components are kind of randomly chosen, but I got half of them for free from people and I don't want it to be an far too expensive project.

(pics of the designs will follow if there are people out there who are interested)

I post this now so you guys can share your thoughts with me, but due to my finals (I live in Belgium, we have finals until the 26th) I will not update this regulary, feel free to comment your tips/tricks :)

This is the case with all sides on, the two big holes in the front are for 80mm fans, the small one is for the powerbutton (I will not have front IO, but i have 6 USB ports on my motherboard)

Here, I took off the top and the front panel, on the left is the PSU, I made it so that the hot air coming out of it goes immediatly out the case. On the right is the HDD case, in there fits a 2.5 inch drive (i got that one from my old laptop) there is also a hole in for the cables.

All the other little, round holes are for ventilation, my motherboard has an on-board CPU with a not so special cooler so I made enough ventilation  :)

The rectangle shaped hole is for my GPU, it is not yet wide enough, but I don't have the exact measurements yet so I don't know where and how big the hole has to be

So, here is the list of the components, as you will see it is not much very special, I will only actually buy the motherboard and sleeved cables.

Motherboard: ASRock C70M1, this is a motherboard with onboard CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157594

PSU: ANTEC Neo HE 430W (I will spraypaint this to match the colours wilth the other components)  http://www.silentpcreview.com/article273-page1.html

GPU: MSI Twin Frozr R9 270X: As I said before, I already owned this card. The colours like this wouldn't match the other components so I will repaint the cooler. http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R9-270X-GAMING-2G.html#hero-overview

HDD: 500 Gb Toshiba 2.5 inch hard drive, took this one from my laptop.

RAM: 2x 2Gb DDR 3 1333Mhz from TeamGroup

I think this is it, I will buy the cables from some cheap online store, I already have the fans (I will also spraypaint these)

It will take long for another edit, because of finals, but feel free to share your toughts with me, all help is appreciated!

NEXT UP: Painting
