So this is what i have come up with as my first build. It is for medium level gaming and graphical work (AutoCAD and 12d) as well as a general home desktop. I have tended towards quality parts and future proofing as i don't want to do this again for several years. It is also at max budget. Could i please get advise on whether this looks like a good build? Have i gone over the top with any parts?

your i5 isn't overclockable so i'd drop the 212 evo for a smaller and less expensive cooler. Noctua NH-u9s or arctic freezer 7 etc etc will be perfectly adequate

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably choose a smaller cooler. Will i still need low profile ram with arctic freezer 7?

RM650 is overpriced, underperforming and quite poorly built for the money.

This PSU is cheaper, better built, and has more money.

Thanks for the heads up. I looked into it and EVGA does look better. Is there much difference between gold and bronze?

Not a massive difference, but there are better gold offerings available if you want

this is cheaper than yours and better than yours.. you will need hyperthreading in those graphical softwares.. the Xeon works like an i7 just with no iGPU

also you get Wi-Fi ac

I hadn't considered Xeon until now, although AUD $84 between CPU's. Will have to look into it more
