Hey forum, no this isn't a spam thread or anything. I'm just looking to see if anyone here has tried the Snakebyte iDroid:Con bluetooth controller and if they had any thoughts on it. My Logitech F710 is in need of replacing, as I think either the wireless dongle or the controller itself is going, and I want a good wireless controller that goes off bluetooth this time and works natively in Windows, so PS3 controllers are not an acceptable option for this. The Snakebyte controller, Amazon link here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0090WBXSM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3BVFOU06EC1JZ Naturally, I understand this gamepad is meant for android, but a reviewer mentions that they've used it in Windows without any issue.

Caught my eye, but it's a from a company I haven't heard of and would like some input before ordering this :) I'm also open to other suggestions for good, bluetooth gamepads that are similar to the form or the PS3 gamepad or Xbox 360 gamepad. I had considered an Ouya controller, but I've not heard a lot of positive things about them. Also, I'd like to keep this purchase under $40, as I only use a gamepad for a select handful of games.

All suggestions welcome so long as they fit what I've asked for above :) thanks for posting!

I haven't heard of them before, but at first glance I don't think they would be terribly high quality. Similar to a brand-name controller you would pick up from, say, Gamestop... Might do you alright for the time being, but I doubt it will last a super long time.

That's fair enough. What about Nyko? Would you consider them a reliable name brand by comparison? I'm disappointed that my F710 is failing on my after 7 months, so I don't want to put myself in that situation again. Example controller: http://www.amazon.com/Playpad-Android-Bluetooth-PC-Mac-Linux/dp/B0092ZEINO/ref=pd_sim_e_2

The also have more retro-friendly controllers, too, so they have a broader product lineup, which might be a good indicator. I'm not sure tbh.

I personally haven't had much good luck with Nyko. Lots of lemon controllers that failed relatively quickly. However, it has been YEARS since I've bought anything of theirs, and I have heard that their quality has improved some. So its your call there. I'm honestly a bit surprised the Logitech is failing on you though... they've been my go-to company for budget peripherals forever.

I know, right? I'm really disappointed that the F710 is such a low quality item, and it really has been since about a month after I got it. The signal strength is very poor, so poor that Logitech includes a USB extension cable so you can position the little dongle closer to where you play. Not to mention it sucks up AA batteries like nothing, even non-rechargeables don't last more than 6 hours of solid gameplay, and it doesn't have good standby power consumption either (even though it was supposedly powered all the way off). I'm hoping a bluetooth solution solves both of these issues.

Anyway, thanks for the response, and I think I'll give the Nyko a go. People from other sites have really enjoyed how this gamepad works and they say it works very well. If it turns out to be a lemon, then I can always return it.
