Windows won't reconize second ssd

Go to solution Solved by Hans Christian | Teri,

Your drive may simply need to be partitioned and set up. These instructions are for Windows 7, but should work with slight alterations in other versions.

Click Start, right-click Computer, and select Manage. This will bring up the Computer Management program. Once there, click Disk Management in the left pane, under Storage.

This will display all of your internal drives. The new one should have a black rather than a blue bar on the top. And it should be described as Unallocated. Right-click that drive, select New Simple Volume, and follow the wizard.

Hello guys,

I just recieved my second ssd the kingston furry 120GB, I installed it, plugged in sata power and sata data cable but windows won't show the drive. If I go in Bios I can see the drive on my board explorer (MSI Krait z97s)

Do I need to format the drive with Gparted or with the Windows Cd ?

GPT unless you're planning on using the drive with an ooold version of Windows. It doesn't matter too much though, MBR will work just fine as well.

|Ah fk :/ i am already installing GTA on it, does it affect my ssd ?
