Hello

I was originally thinking of getting a laptop for this but I figured that I don't really need portability.

What specs would be recommended for playing modern games (GTA V , Battlefield 4 , Dying Light, etc..) and good for editing and rendering video files in programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects?

I also need recommendations on a monitor. Preferably touchscreen or dual monitor.

Thanks  :D

What is your budget? Do you need Windows, or peripherals?

For editing, gaming I would recommend a 5820k and a GTX 970.

I'm looking for something that's a total of maybe $500- 1,000 more or less. ( Less is better ).

I'd prefer windows 8 / 8.1 and I would also like to run Linux alongside it. Is that possible?

I guess I'd need a few USB 3 ports, an HDMI /MiniDisplay/ Thunderbolt Port and a CD/DVD Drive or maybe a BluRay reader if there are any cheap ones.

Thanks :D
