It was rumored 390x was performing less than 980ti at gaming.

Grab a 980ti or 970 if you want bang for your buck.

Btw, what kind of games are you planning on playing?

Gta v, the witcher 3 etc would like to play in 4k at max settings though which seems to be borderline atm is it worth waiting for more powerful cards to come out or upgrade now

Don't go off pure rumors as competition usually stirs that pot. Wait for actual results.

Ofc i will wait to see what amd can do b4 buying anything

Rest of your PC Specs? 4k Max settings in Witcher 3 is 30fps and Max settings GTA v is 45-50fps. I can get a few pictures and of the guy who will be doing benchmarks with the 980ti until the 300 series come out.

wait to get the GPU. Wait in general. That CPU would be a bottleneck running 4k Max settings.

For 4k max 60ish you gonna need 2gpus, whatever amd got up their sleeve i highly doubt it will deviate more than 15% from a 980ti/titan x

A single 980timfrom the few benchmarks is getting 30-60fps Max settings. Witcher 3 MAX 30 FPS without drops, GTA V MAX 40-50FPS. The dude might have a few more benchmarks up I can go check

You're gonna need to upgrade that CPU before getting more powerful cards, it'll bottleneck anything higher than a 280x.

At 4k it's actually the opposite. Higher the resolution, the less work is done on the cpu
