I was thinking of upgrading my audio setup from my TB X12 headphone microphone which is annoyingly sensitive and produces white noise to an Audio Technica ATR-2100 mounted onto a table mounted microphone arm. The ATR 2100 from what I have heard sounds good but that's not the issue.

I was planning on mounting the 2100 to the microphone arm but I'm slightly worried about the direction of the sound it picks up. The 2100 is a carboid microphone which uses either XLR or USB. What do you guys think?

if it's annoyingly sensitive and produces white noise, lower the gain.

it will not be as sensitive,

the white noise is most likely caused by poor power in the preamp so by lowering the gain the noise floor will go down.

Will work for electronic components and parts
