So after updating my computer that I have been using for the past year that I built myself from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 Pro N version. I have been getting some really weird problems and things that come up.

If I try to boot up in the morning my pc would have these quick bursts and flashes of the pc attempting to boot up but it seems like it's failing for some reason, that'll hold on for 30 seconds.

After that stage it'll be stuck on a black screen for a while until I see that it's booting up the BIOS screen (where you can press DEL to enter it).

Then it'll still be stuck on a black screen for a while showing the error (A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpilLock Failed.

After a while it'll just boot up Windows 8.1 and I'll be able to use my computer just fine.

If I leave my computer for about 3 hours alone it'll just be a black screen when I come back and eventho I click thousands of keys or move my mouse and spam click it wont go back to Windows and just pressing the power button wont shut it down, I'll actuality have to force it.

On shutting down it'll shut down Windows 8.1 just fine but then the computer will still be running a black screen and I'll have to force shutdown it once again.

I went to a friend to play some games and then when I plugged my computer in it was just like it returned out of sleep mode and my facebook, skype and steam was still open like the way I left it there.

I have tried updating my BIOS, it help (I don't know if I successfully did it, because there isn't like any confirmation of it if you install it by flashdrive) and I cannot use the 4th Generation Software provided by Asus because it doesn't support my platform (I think this is caused because I am using the N version, eventho I have installed some updates that install the media software etc.)

I have tried updating my Intel ME software, it also doesn't support my platform.

I have no idea what I can do

My specs are:

Mobo: Asus Maximus VI Impact

CPU: Intel i5 4670k
RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance

PSU: Bequiet! L8 500W

GPU: MSI GTX 760

Bump

Don't have to bump. One of us will be along.

Are you overclocking? Because that can cause these kinds of issues. If not keep reading.

Perused your manual, and I see a couple options of note.

1. PCH Settings. Make sure Rapid Start is set to disabled.

2. SATA Config. Make sure it is set to AHCI mode. Set LPM to disabled.

3. Boot Menu. Under Secure boot make sure it is set to Windows UEFI mode.

Double check those and maybe capture some screens to a USB key of your BIOS and post them.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

I just did a quick check and all those settings are correct, I didn't have time to make some screenshots because I have to leave for work so I could only make a quick peek.

Is it possible that my motherboard is at the end of it's lifetime? Eventho it's only 2 years old ? :/
