If you're only gaming then there is no need for such a high-end motherboard as you will not use the features, all you will be doing is wasting money. I would highly suggest you go with an ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 or Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H for about $150, they will both offer near enough the same features and will support SLI/CrossFireX if you ever need it.

Why are you upgrading if you already have an MPower?

Then you don't need to upgrade if you already have an MSI Z77 MPower. And there is nothing wrong with ASRock or Gigabyte boards but if you really did want MSI or ASUS then I would recommend the MSI Z77A-GD65 or ASUS P8Z77-V but seen as you have an MPower there isn't any need.

The Mpower is a fucking awesome board, why you wanna change that? I'd have bought the Mpower if it was out at the time I built my rig =P

Good decision. Besides that "Gaming"-branded stuff is usually only marketing. Don't fall for that ;P
