I'm posting this for a friend. He doesn't have an account.

So he got the text that crashes your iPhone, and it caused his iPhone to crash. When he tried booting it up again, it crashes and goes into a restart loop. We have tried holding power and home for 20 seconds to restart it, but it goes back into a restart loop until the battery dies. When the battery died and we charged it, he turned it on and it went back into the loop. We have tried connecting it to a computer, but iTunes does not recognize the device. We have tried everything and need help.

The phone has very important documents and pictures on it, he needs them.

Please help he is freaking out right now

It is an iPhone 6 plus on iOS 8

So it was jail broken and he got the text and that broke it.

Will he lose his data?

Is there any way possible to get back his documents or are they lost?

As long as he has a older backup on his iTunes. You should be able to restore the data. I restored after my iphone failed to update mid-way through and had to go in Recovery mode. So It should be fine, added if it's the only way to fix the phone data loss is the least of his problems. Did he get the msg with the odd writing, before it crashed? I heard a bug has been going around.

The msg with code that cause iphones to restart is known to break jailbroken iphones. I don't think it harms un jail broken devices as a few friends and I were playing with this last week.

I've bricked a wii after installing a wrong WAD on it. It posted but I had no signal. So i'm gonna guess it will be something like that
