My brother in law had a RAT9, it is a very customizable mouse so it will defiantly be able to be claw gripped. there was an issue with the sensor (the mouse pointer would move even when the mouse was not being touched, it would trail across the screen slowly.)

after a short amount of time he got fed up with the mouse doing this and sold it. he now has a corsair M65.

The macroing on it is not the best but it does provided a lot of options (you can not change the action of the left or right click unfortunately), and the sniper button is not good at all, i takes WAY to much force to press and means you are squeezing your mouse, this does not help when trying to make precise shots.

personally i would recommend you only get a wireless mouse if you have to. the Rat7 may be a better bet (no need to change battery's)

All in all it is a slightly heavy but very comfortable mouse, i am not sure if the issues with his one were isolated, but that is my experience.

Yeah I read that on a handful of reviews... I'm really after a claw grip wireless gaming mouse though, so wired isn't really an option due to my cableless OCD setup :D I do make an exception though for my ducky... its epicness hides that fact that theres an ugly cable extruding from the back of it :P So any recommendations of a good gaming wireless mouse would be much appreciated!

I have not used one but is it worth taking a look at the Razer Ouroboros. it is a similar style to the RAT (more green though) and is also wireless.

And i would make an exception for a Ducky as well.

Anything for a ducky lol! I heard that there was some problems with the Razer Ouroboros, but I'm deffinetely going to check it out! I suppose green won't be so bad... A great excuse to buy some green key caps for the ducky!

I got the ouroboros and it feels awesome, however I had constant problems with it in terms of always freezing and real laggy tracking, esp on comp start up and mouse wake up. It became unbearable, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, software etc but nothing worked.

I now got myself a logitech g700s and it's perfect, doesn't have the customisation like the rat 9 or ouroboros but it actually works and the software is good to :)

I've heard that the battery and wireless connection on the RAT 9 is somewhat terrible. Of course the people with problems will speak louder than the people who are happy.
There is a chance you will experience tracking problems, such as cursor moving while mouse isn't moving, and y axis locking up for a second making the cursor only moving left or right. (you will need a good mouse pad to fix this)

I own a rat 7, I hate wireless peripherals because I hate batteries, thus why I didn't buy the rat 9.

But with all that being said, I love the way it feels and using the side scroll to switch between tabs is amazing.

It take a good week or 2 (possibly more) to fully get used to (comfort wise), kind of like wearing a new pair of shoes.

I've been using rat 9 for almost a year

it is very customizable and love the weight adjustment

But today I treat myself with a new steelseries sensei, man i love the look and the led thing

yes in term of software steelseries wins it all,but I found it abit too light

in fact I found that I love heavy mouse like my rat 9 with a bit of the weight

still not sure whether i wanna keep the rat or move to steelseries for the software

the only downside with my rat was only that sometimes it lose the signal causing some lag when I've my mobile phone near the transmitter

but it happens very rarely, no problem with the battery so far

Used R.A.T 9 for over a year and not had any problems with sensor or anything else. I've got it connected via hub to one PC and two different Macs and no problem on any machine.

The only drawback really is the battery....but at least it comes with two batteries and you've always got one of them charged fully.
