I'm building my first semi-serious gaming rig, and I'd like some feedback on the components. Keep in mind I'd like to keep this build around $1,000 or less. My hope is for the final product to be able to play most AAA titles at 1080p with around 60fps (Some of my steam games at 1440 would be nice too), as well as be able to some some multitasking for school and such. . .but the main focus being gaming.

For the CPU I chose the Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor because from my understanding this quad core is gonna outperform any AMD 6 or 8 core processor in gaming.

For the CPU cooler I chose the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler for no other reason that it was cheap, Cooler Master is a trusted brand, and it should be powerful enough to cool my CPU when overclocked

For the motherboard I chose the  Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard I've heard good things about Gigabyte and I don't see why I should spend more if it won't enhance performance

For the graphics card I chose Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card I've heard great things about this GPU, and it should be able to run most games at 1080p-1440p

For Storage I chose the Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive For games and high load time programs and for mass storage I went with the Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

For memory I went with Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory it was cheap and a lot of my peripherals are corsair, so I'd like to keep the theme

Finally my case and power supply Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply & NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case.

Please give me input if I should change anything, I don't care to spend any more money if it will not affect the final builds performance but I would love to shave down the price if there are alternatives that won't affect the performance.
