Upgrading my PC

So i'm planning to upgrade my pc. Here are my specs:

 

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K

 

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS V GENE

 

RAM: Corsair 2x4GB  DDR3 @ 668MHz

 

GPU: Asus GTX 670 Direct CUII TOP

 

PSU: Corsair GS700

 

Storage: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB SSD

                Western Digital WDC 1TB

 

Monitor: ASUS MS238 (1920x1080@60Hz) - considering future upgrade but not right now

 

Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

 

What i mainly want to upgrade is the GPU and RAM, i was also thinking of upgrading the CPU but a friend told me to wait for the new generation of Intel CPU's but i am open to suggestions.

For the graphics card i was thinking about the GTX 970.

I use my PC mainly for gaming and i want to get a better performance in "The Witcher 3", i am not looking to be able to play all games on ultra or constant 60 fps

I am also not looking to overclock.

 

I am thinking about spending around 400€ - 500€

I used a program so see what is RAM it was since i don't remember what i bought at the time.

Your current build is pretty good. I would consider getting a more current GPU (as you planned). Other than that your build is pretty good and should be running most games with no trouble at all. 

2x4GB should be optimal and enough for gaming. 

You did not specify what PSU are you using or if you have overclocked the CPU. 

You should be pretty safe in terms of storage. Just remember to have backups of all your important files externally and to check the health of your driver every once in a while.

That CPU is unlocked for overclocking and you can easily do that by getting a aftermarket CPU Cooler and thus boosting the performance.

 

The PSU should be enough to handle overclocking and two GPUs at the same time so you are good there. 

 

Since I am a Western Digital representative, I can't really recommend other companies' products. I could suggest checking out some reviews and comments on those cards and see which one has the best ones. the more, the better idea you'd have.

get some Kingston HyperX RAM (just a suggestion) there is quite a big range and looks pretty cool (if thats your thing)

Not in benchmark tests. And well there ARE MORE Nvidia GAMES. So yes maybe but it also depends on the users games!
