Cpu temps questions while underload

Go to solution Solved by Stardar1,

Ok, I take it that this means my cpu is getting too hot.

Just want to ask because dont want to spend money unnecessarily.

It is technically fine, but it may lower performance and is certainly lowering your CPU lifespan.

a basic cooler such as the 212 EVO is a $30 fix that works wonders.

Hello

I am testing my pc which has a i7 4790K with a stock cooler.  I have a MSI Z97 Gaming 7 mb.

My case is big and I have two front fans and one rear fan.

I am testing my system with Furmark to stress the system. I will use the pc for graphic design, 3D design, rendering and animation, and movie making and some gaming.

I have both side panels on the pc, the side which has the cable management cannot close completely because of the extra cables from my psu.

The temp is about 85 degress celsius.  Is this ok?

Before when I did the same test with the side panels off, the temp did not get that high.

Should I go ahead and get a better after market cooler?

Yes, 85ºC is fine, the stock cooler for intel is just plain bad. :D It is reaching the limit, and I would control it and check it does not go above 85ºC. If youve got some spare 20€, i wouild get a cheap aftermarket cooler. (Cooler Master 212 or 412 will do just fine)

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

I have the I5 Devil's Canyon (4690k) overclocked to 4.5 GHz, on the Gigabyte Z97-HD3. With the Hyper 212 EVO i never break 60 degrees celcius

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:
