CS:GO help.

So I am having trouble with CS:GO. I try to join a game and it keeps loading and always says cannot access inventory. My friend told me on skype what to do as shown below. How do I do what he said? Is it even accurate with what he said?

Do you own the game? Family sharing doesn't work. You need to have your own copy to have an inventory in your account. if you have the game can you explain a little more.

Computing enthusiast. 
I use to be able to input a cheat code now I've got to input a credit card - Total Biscuit

Well my friend came over recently and downloaded it on my computer as well as GMod and Gmod works so I don't get why CS:GO doesn't.

Did they gift you the game, did they buy you it or just family share? For CS:GO it's a little different because of the whole Elo system and such.

He logged in and downloaded the game. I just wish my parents would let me get steam cards because I really want to be able to play CS:GO.
