New to benchmarking.

Hey Guys,

 

I'm just finishing up upgrading my PC and was wondering what I should do to stress my PC and see what it can do?

 

Any ideas on what software and Numbers I should look for?

 

What's good and whats not?

Geekbench 3?

Intel XTU or Aida64 to stress the CPU and to test overclocks. Cinebench just to see the numbers and compare against other systems if you care about that.

 

Heaven and valley to stress GPU. If you can, use the actual games you'll be playing on it a bit. That's what you'll be overclocking it for after all!

Overclocking utilities for GPU: EVGA precision X or (the favorite) MSI afterburner.

Firestrike gives a good benchmark of combined CPU and GPU performance.

Furmark will work well for just GPU testing.

Valley Benchmark gives a good combines score, though slightly leaning towards the GPU.

Crystal Disk Mark will give you a good bench of your read/write speeds.

Cinebench will give you a CPU performance comparison.

Overclock and check voltages with any GPU overclocker (I prefer MSI Afterburner)

And of course, you can check your framerate in games.

Then use any temperature monitoring software (I use HWmonitor) to check temps during long tests.
