Hey

I’m a huge fan of Linus tech tips, though it’s unfortunate I’m contacting you because I’m in a pickle, I have a DZ68BC Desktop Board by Intel that is plagued with BIOS issues ever since BIOS 0035 was released and recently the instability has gotten worse, please check

 https://communities.intel.com/thread/29690?start=0&tstart=0

Help us run this story if you can Intel practically abandoned us on this otherwise great board while using BIOS 0028 and below.

Unfortunately I had to update my board back in 2012 because I was planning to use the Intel Core i7-3770 non K, which is the CPU I have along with the board, FYI I am stephenb.b.r in the Intel community so if you read the thread I linked above that’s me, help us Linus maybe Intel will listen to a force to reckon with like you.

Another thing I noticed back in 2012 you did unboxing video for the Intel DZ77RE-75K Desktop Board, that is what I had planned on getting down the line and it never happened due to some financial difficulties and hasn’t happened to date.

I’m a tech guy just like you, would like to be in the for front like you but things are very different in Kenya, the instability with the DZ68BC is too much its affecting my movie shop business too much down time trying to trouble shoot.

I’m wondering if you still have the DZ77RE-75K that you reviewed here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqVYmtM0xCU

and if you don’t mind I don’t have the money at the moment to send to you to possibly facilitate the sending of the DZ77RE-75K board to Kenya, but if you can please help contact me so I may send my shipping details to you so you may send to me the DZ77RE-75K board or any other board with that much USB ports and a fire wire port and possibly HDMI and DP or HDMI and DVI or just any other board that you may have that you could spare and supports Intel Core i7-3770, I’ll be great full if you could help a fellow tech.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Stephen B.R.

I highly doubt Linus will give away review samples to anyone who asks. Perhaps try contacting Intel directly and see if they will send you a new board or give you a discount on a new one. If it was truly an error on their end that bricked the board then they will do everything they can to make things right.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

I think the only option is to eBay up a Gigabyte or something, older boards are decently cheap.

This has been an ongoing issue since 2012, and Intel's "efforts" have only served to make it worse. It is now an EOL product and it will never be fixed.

It's an error from Intel, just check the link i provided above if you have some time, plus I've RMAd the board to Intel 3 times and they have sent to me a newer revision each time and all of them have the issues as long as its BIOS 0035, 0036, 0073, 0039 and 0042

Plus there are many threads about the DZ68BC in Intel Community, i guess i contributed to most of the threads over the years

Thanks man i appreciate, and I already know its EOL the thing is issues began before it was EOL all thos BIOS I've mentioned were produced before it was EOL, I tried getting a full refund directly from Intel they asked for my receipt but when i provided them with it they replied they do not recognise the local shop i bought it from and they told me the receipt was not valid.
