I've been playing round with overclocks on my 965 unfortunately have still have the stock cooler so I can't keep them and check if they're stable. What stable settings is anyone else using and what clock speed are you getting. I can get 3.8GHz stable with no over volt.

I would say that 3.8GHz is about as much as you are going to get out of stock voltage with the stock cooler. Depending what case you have, I would recommend something like an H80i (Single 120mm Radiator) or an H100i (Dual 120mm Radiator). I would say that you should be able to get to about 4.2GHz to 4.4GHz at 1.425v to 1.45v. Only bump the voltage with an aftermarket cooler.

My 965 hits a wall at around 3.8 too. Nothing stable above that, although my hardware isn't great for overclocking.

There's my friends 965BE that i'm having for loan until i get my new motherboard: Ran PRIME95 for about 38 hours' date=' and no crashes so far so I would say it's stable at 4.2 :) NB has also been overclocked to 2.6 [/quote']

Fair play, must have a good chip. :)

38'C idle, around 55-57 on full load, which i get only in Prime. If you're wondering, i have a Scythe Katana 4 as a cooler. a really really cheap cooler but as you can see, it performs really good :)

Yeah, what i've heard is that all the revision c3 chips are great overclockers. they don't have to have crazy amount of volts to stay stable. but of course, every chip is different, it seems my friend has one of the best :P
