No Display from on board GPU

I'm selling my 780ti. So I want to use the on board graphics card until I get a new GPU. But the display doesn't come on. I changed the default bios to CPU graphics. I have a 4770k and Z97 deluxe motherboard. I'm using the HDMI. Please help

Have you installed the drivers for the Integrated graphics? You may need to put your card back in temporarily to be able to install the drivers.

Install the drivers in the windows? It doesn't show the boot screen as well.

So if you put your 780ti back in (do you still have it?) you should be able to install the drivers in Windows?

I put the 780ti back in and I get the boot screen etc. But when I remove the GPU and connect the display to the onboard HDMI, nothing comes on.

Yep; when you have the 780ti can you install the drivers for your on-board video?

Okay. Done. Now let me try booting it up with the onboard GPU

Could be a faulty HDMI port - do you have a DVI cable on hand to test?

Forgot to mention. I'm using a HDMI to VGA connector to connect to my display.

Is that something that will create this problem?

Connect the VGA directly and see if the display shows anything.

I only have a HDMI, a display port and a mini display port behind the motherboard.

Oh yeah sorry didn't realise. Hmm. The only thing I can think of now is to try and find a display port - hdmi adapter and try that

Oh alright. I will go to my local computer shop and have a look if they have it. Thanks a lot. I'll keep u updated.
