Upgrade to 970?

So I'm selling my gtx770 to a friend for her first custom built system which leaves me looking for a new card. I found this 970 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487088) for $328 after shipping and I think it is what I'm going to go with but I'd really like some peoples opinions.

What I'll be using it for is heavy gaming at 1080p, modded skyrim, arma 3, assetto corsa, ect... I'm not worried about the .5gb of pretty much unusable vram as I don't think I'll ever use that much to need to worry about it.

I REALLY want an MSi 290x Lightning but with W10 and DX12 right around the corner I just absolutely cannot pass up having dx12 support. For those that say wait for 390 and 390x I'm selling the graphics card in like a week and can't live without my system being up as it is my only device for media and shit.
