Hi,

I bought a 4k television for my bedroom and I'm trying to find the best way to set my pc up to it for gaming. It's a 60hz panel and I'm trying to figure out how I might go about eliminating tearing as I'm sure some games will go above 60fps as I upgrade my gpu down the road. Would adaptive v sync be the best option for using a pc as a console? I've read some poor reviews of adaptive v sync with claims of input lag and failure to actually remove tearing. Any ideas?

Thanks

Adaptive vsync in my experience has been pretty awful. In most games, the frame rate will change from 30 to 60 or vice versa drastically if you'd normally go in between. It's not a very good effect.

However, I've heard (from here) that the issue I mentioned is fixed if you use it through the control panel.

chances of you getting over 60fps at 4k is phenomenally low  and yes vsync is fine

I'll probably have the tv long enough to where 4k is seen as easy to run as 1080p since I'll eventually upgrade the gpu. I'm hoping adaptive v sync will not introduce very much input lag and prevent the tearing and stutter of traditional v sync.
