Razer tiamat

I just bought an Razer tiamat and because my motherboard is an asus z97-k, which does not have built in 7.1 surround audio. I have noticed that in 2.1 mode, there is not a lot of base, so i was wondering if getting a sound card that supports 7.1 would help with more bass, or with better quality sound. if so, what is an good one to get. Thanks

Nope wouldn't help, Razer headsets suck unfortunately.

Derp, I just noticed you already had the headset. Be forwarned, a soundcard may not help with the bass. That could just be the sound sig of the headphones; if that's the case, you'll need EQ or different headphones.

If you have that much left to spend, I'd return the Razer and get a real headphone, leaving $70 or so dollars left over in case you need an amp. You could get a HyperX cloud or even AKG K612.

Like I said, get a cheap 7.1 Xonar.
