So a friend of mine asked me to configure a PC build for him for $1600, this is what I came up with.

He wants to play at 1440p and likes to go with a nice yellow and black color scheme with a windowed case.

BF4 is one of the games he wants to play allot so a GPU is important.

Same for the CPU because he might want to start making videos / streaming soon.

The rest of the peripherals don't need to be included at this price.

This is what I came up with

Do you guys have any improvements or suggestions?

Perfect. Though personally I hate the super baller highly clocked RAM that actually is useless because they increase CAS a lot. I'd prefer CAS 8/9 1600/1866mhz over 2133 CAS 11. CAS is a lot more important IMO

Personally I'd get 2 of these kits: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f314900cl8d8gbxm

Or if you want 8gb sticks I'd get this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f31866c9d16gxm

I actually use 1333mhz CAS 9 for my gaming computer and it doesn't hold anything back at all :D speed really makes no difference to DDR3 memory for most tasks. But lower CAS makes the whole computer more responsive

Good tip.

But blue in a yellow and black based build?

Is there any RAM that goes with the color scheme?

Not a bad build but I prefer a GTX970 instead of the R9 290X.

The rest looks good, I like the PSU and RAM

290x is going to be better for 1440p gaming. If you were to get dual 970s then it would be another thing.

I highly suggest you both wait for the 300 series from AMD it's launch is just around the corner. And most likely they are going to be better than the 900 series from Nvidia.

The AX760 is horrifically overpriced. Look at EVGA G2, XFX XTR or similar.
