Wired and wireless combo troubleshooting

In my home network I have a dual band router. I'm planning on buying a desktop computer without a network card and I'm therefore testing what happens when I connect a cable to the router. My goal is that the computers connected to the router via wireless and the desktop computer will have similar speeds. However when I connect a cable to the router, and connect it to a computer via wire, the speed drastically decreeses on the other computers (connected by wireless).

 

Why is this, and how can I fix it?

 

My router is the: Asus RT AC66U
