HDD corrupted

When i try to open a 500GB WD drive windows tells me i need to format. Ive tried so many things and nothing seems to work. Ive tried using Kernel and EaseUS data recovery to no avail. When it finally finishes scanning it only finds a few mb of data. I know the 460GB of data is there because when i run kernel it detects that there is 460GB of data but when i run the full scan and recovery it only recovers a few mb that has nothing to do with my data. I was looking at computer management and i realized that this drive is considered active and primary. When i try to remove it and boot windows it wont boot(giving me some sort of error. i forget what it was) Then i remembered that this started after i ran the windows 7 and fixed an issue with bootmgr. My opinion is that maybe the boot for windows was placed on this drive. Any ideas how i can fix it and or why i cant recover my data?

 

Also i just changed the drive letter. The format is coming up as RAW. This did not happen before. Anyways any ideas?

RAW format isn't good. Usually this means that you have somehow lost a partition. You are going to have to reformat it back to NTFS to use it again but that will erase your data
Try using this tool, I have had some success using it to recover RAW HDD's, but not always               http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
