Need help on power target

Hey i need help on power target, when i have evga precisionx open i see a slide that has power limit, im at 100 atm, and im guessing the more power limit, the more i can get out of the card, but it doesnt let me go above 100, i put 125  and goes back to 100. So i thoght if i reduce power limit it is better? idk? please someone help me, or explain what it does, ty
