I currently have an FX 8350 and a 7870 in my system and it's starting to struggle through 3D CAD work. I'm planning on an upgrade in the next year, and I'm gonna be using a 1080p monitor. What GPU would you recommend that would last me another 3 years? At worst I'm gonna be building an oil rig? Should I just get any of the highest end model that I can afford by the time I have money? or should I resort to FirePro/Quadro?

Save save save and then come back with a budget when your ready to spend... You could be better off getting an intel chip and board or more ram or ssd over a gpu.. Not sure myself (am sure someone here knows) if CAD uses cuda or openCL (Nvidia vs AMD)

But withough knowing full system specs, budget and WHEN your going to upgrade, not much we can do.. and even then untill a week or 2 beforre, prices and new stuff will be released so come back then.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..

If you are for sure going to be constantly doing CAD, it'd be worth it to get a workstation card. Consumer cards give up certain features and usually compatibility.
