How is my first gaming computer?

Go to solution Solved by itsmyjobtoknow,

PSU is overkill.

How so? Op current chose a 550 Watts and an 290.

I would rather get a higher watt such as a 650watt and have some headroom then a small psu and undershoot.

Hello, I'm building my first computer as you can probably tell from the title. The only problem I have is I have no clue what's good and what's not.  I keep on going back and forth with the graphic card, but if you think the one I chose sucks, and you can put a better one, put it. Thanks!

Computer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bP38qs (with 1TB and Optical Drive, and Windows 10, but Windows 8.1 for now)

I want ultra high settings, I use a Vizio 23 inch t.v. (I think it's 720p)

Games I play:

-Spintires

-BeamNG.drive

-Black ops 2

-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

- CounterStrike:GO

-Dirt 3

Thanks!

You did pretty good....although the amount of fans isn't necessary...

And the z97 board isn't necessary as well since you don't the i5 isn't overclockable...unless you plan on getting a K part in the future.

And maybe a higher wattage PSU as well

Thanks for the answer! I'm going to be keeping this computer for awhile so I figured go with all the fans, kind of puts my mind at ease with heat.  And I am planing on over clocking in the future, I just want to get it up and running with decent parts. Thanks again

Why would he need headroom? The estimated wattage on PcPartPicker is always exaggerated.

You can just download windows from Pirate bay or something. This is your best option.
