My PC says it isn't connect to the internet (has a big cross through the icon) but I am connected.

 

I am using Windows 7 and wired network.

Press Ctral + R  type CMD  press enter,    black box opens,  type: ping 8.8.8.8

 

Tell me if you get a "reply from 8.8.8.8"

big cross on the network can mean the LAN port is not enabled

How do I enable it?

right click on the network sign and click troubleshoot problems

 

 

also check your device manager and check if the port is enabled

 

 

 

 

it seems your network is fine since it can ping the google server

 

 

 

look elsewhere

 

 

check if you can surf the web now

How do I enable it?

You dont need to, Its fine, you can connect to the internet, sometimes you find windows doesnt update the icon, Probably if you just logged of and logged back on again the Icon would be normal.
