Motherboard Post Help

I posted about my motherboard before without the problem ever being resolved before the forum died. Here is what I have so far:

 

I have recently purchases a z97 Guard-Pro from msi and wish to test it before I put it into the case(which has yet to arrive).  I have consulted the manuel but cannot decipher how to short the board to get it to boot outside of the case.  I have plugged in the power supply, attached all cables, done this all on an anti static mat, installed the video card, ram, etc; help pls

Ok, you should look for the front panel connectors. If there are pins labeled power switch, short those 2.

So, short the pins labeled power switch+ and power switch-
