1TB HDD not working

Did you format the drive in Disk Management?(found in Windows) If you tried that, did you put your ear to the drive to listen for whirring?

where in windows, what do you mean?

 

EDIT: ok i wwent to disk management and I can see my 1TB HDD well its 931GB but I see it but how do I use it?

EDIT: I formated it thanks it worked :D
