Wifi trouble!

Today I got an intel 3160 and an adapter for my pc. I put it in and the connection was fine for a few minutes

I soon realized that the Bluetooth did not work and now I can barely connect to the Internet. When I go to windows update to check for updates I get error code 800072efe and I cannot find a solution.

I have tried reinstalling the drivers and troubleshooting, nothing has worked so far.

My connection says it has full bars but it drops down to 43Mbps and up to 72.2Mbps but at first it was at 150Mbps.

I would check the physical connection.

 

The 3160 is a mini pciE card, right?  Did it come with a kit?  Or did you get the antenna and connecting wires separately?

I got the antenna and adapter separately from the 3160

Now I'm getting an error "the dns server is not responding". I have restarted my modem and it didnt work, I tried the ipconfig commands and they didnt work either.

Sometimes it decides to work for a minute or two but then the same problem comes up.

I did get windows update to work, but I still cannot use the Internet properly.

I downloaded the intel PROSet/Wireless Software version 17.16.0 and for bluetooth i downloaded Intel Wireless Bluetooth (patch version 17.1.1512.771)

I got my internet speed to work for the most part with it averaging 72.2Mbps so I guess that's fine. But the bluetooth will still not work, there is an unknown device detected on my computer but it won't properly download it's drivers. It says error code 43.

I actually just ended up going back to running an ethernet cable across my house. I'll have to do this until i can get a new modem/router since i think that's where the problem lies.
