I am looking into building a new computer for everyday use and for moderate gaming. I want to purchase the bare necessities for now to keep the cost as low as possible. I am going to add later (in this order), WD Blue, Corsair H100i, GTX 970. I want this system to run quiet so the case was a no-brainer. I need the DVD drive. Is there anything you would change about this build without making it any more expensive?

Don't use that SSD, get something like a FURY SSD:

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

- Cave Johnson, founder and CEO of Aperture Science, in Portal 2

Is there any specific GTX 960 you recommend?

I would highly recommend one from EVGA and definitely a 4GB version.  The FTW would be my top choice, with the SSC version as second.
