So I have an hp wired or wireless printer. In this new house I am having a weird network setup. I am going to have a wired network and a wireless network. Is there some way I can get my hp on both the wired and wireless network.

I have one theory. Could someone tell me if that would work

Theory: plug in Ethernet into printer and then also sign into wireless router on that printer. Would having the printer on both networks work.

Please just give me the scoop

I think it is the photo smart 7520

Okay, I would suggest using a cable first and then install the driver and then try to connect via the wireless. If not, I presume, that One connection works.

So the problem is that the wireless router will be separate from the wired Ethernet network. So how could wireless device see the wired Internet.

Can you please explain your network setup in detail please? Will both networks be connected somehow and hence be on the same Global IP?

So Here is my Plan.

The house has pre run Cat 5e jacks

In the closet of the Distribution box, is the modem. The Modem goes into box and out eight ports. In the center of the house is one Cat port. That is where the router will go. Since there is only one port on the wall, I will not have anything wired into it.   The wired computers, roku and other device will be wired from the modem and not the Router. I have devices on the separate wired connection that need that printer but I also have devices on the separate wireless network like Tablets, phones ant etc that also need that printer. How can both separate networks get access to one printer.

Your wired connections would have to go through your router.

You cannot have your wired stuff plugged directly into a modem--it won't work.

If both wired and wireless are getting DHCP from your router, then they'll all (in a home setup) be on the same vlan, and will essentially be the same network (in your case, probably a /24 of some sort).

Basically it goes:

Internet connection (copper/fibre) -> Modem -> Router (All-in-one Access point (wireless), switch, router, dhcp, etc) -> devices (either over wired or wireless via switches or 802.11 wireless)
