So ive got a 1TB drive as my third pc drive. and for some reason it loves to hog up all the sata bandwidth, steam games when downloaded to it pause to write to disk and freeze up the entire pc. and just in general this drive drags the entire computer down. HOWEVER

>100 percent healthy

>Scanning it comes up with no bad sectors or issues
>Complete format does nothing, the disk still hogs up all the sata and can eventually freeze the entire PC
>No matter how many times its check disked windows finds no issues with it

and yet this drive gives me nothing but problems. even accessing it through explorer can occasionally cause max HDD usage freezing the PC.

In short what the f is going on with this drive if its fully healthy according to windows, has no bad sectors at all. and check disk cant find any issues ever?

Is there a better program to show the true issue with this drive? Because windows cant find one. But ill tell ya right now this is the only drive in my PC that causes problems.

Its really hit or miss with this drive, sometimes its fine, sometimes its the devil and kills the entire computer.

I cant see what might be wrong, what I do see is 200 reallocated sectors, what is 40 too much, your drive is dying. you might have a month or so, with worry free usage, but I'd look into getting a new drive(partly for the reallocated sectors and partly for the weird problem you have ). A solution for your first problem i cant see.

Computer's don't make errors. What they do, they do on purpose.

I just saw it at ID 1, you have 42410 read errors  going for you,(how did I miss that ) this is probably the problem, and if both drives have 200 reallocated errors you can probably ignore that, i compared it with my 300gig drive with has way less sectors, for a 1000 gig drive you are in the green on that one.

Computer's don't make errors. What they do, they do on purpose.

Anything i can do about those read errors or is this drive just junked?

I think formatting should help, but reckoning you have already done that i am afraid you're going to have to send back to maybe get a new one.

ive only done a quick format. not a full one.

Doing a full format now. Seems to be taking forever and im not seeing any activity on my HDD use light. But ill let it go for a while. Disk Man is responding and running so i assume its doing something.

EDIT- very faint flicker on HDD use light. All is good.

how did your pc and drive react to the full format?

if it didnt work you could try wiping the drive clean with a live USB of geparted you could also change the drive partitioning to fat16 and then back to fat32 for a real rebuild of the drive.(also with the live usb)
