Gaming Build final checking

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

The BX100 SSD is slightly cheaper and is very good.

Here is a better power supply which is cheaper after rebate.

Are you just gaming on one monitor ?

@Kryptos

I'm starting to watch prices/sales on the following parts for my Gaming PC build, and have ordered the "Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler" so far. I've been told by a number of my friends that this is a great build but I just want to double check things, so let me know if anything seems weird to you thanks.

That is good. unless you need the 3tb hdd for something specific i would suggest forgoing it and get a 1tb drive to save some money, same with the optical drive. the monitors you could probably find cheaper and the ram is your pref ofc, if you think you need it ram never hurts. The 4790k is another thing not necessary, assuming on all of this ofc if you are only gaming. anything more would be silly and overkill, if you fix all that up you can add another 970 or put in a 980 ill start fixing it up for you right now as a matter of fact.

This is the one that I highly suggest as it is cheaper and has extremely high performance plus the single 980 will perform bettter in many of the games that are not good with sli, and you can always add another in the future

Again I suggest this first one.

Reconsider you storage and monitor solution, and you won't benefit from the 4790k go 4690k, the GPU is more expensive and worse than a good 290X, and for the love of Gaben color matching your PC can be done with 5$ in plasti dip you don't need to spend an extra 100$ on color matching components.

Thanks you for the SSD suggestion as well as the PowerSupply @lee32uk, for gaming I do plan on using only one monitor, I just find myself always needing a 2nd monitor during work, because I do quite a bit of multitasking.

@elan2468 The 3TB hardrive and optical drive is for school, and the 4790k will help with render times on projects and stuff.

Stick with the i7 then.

I haven't "tried" to color match my pc in the least, most of it is by accident. Red isn't my color it's either blue or green, and I don't like Radeon.

Sorry didn't know that you were going to be doing rendering as well in that case go with the 970 and the 4790k and that is a very nice coincidence to have everything match like that. Have fun and happy building.
