Yeah, I just wanted to check my bases and make sure I'm not going crazy. If anyone else has observations I'd still love to hear them.
-
Sometimes I have to do rendering and such. Just figured that having 850watts would give me good headroom so I don't bottleneck anything and my current PSU has already dealt with a good amount of time.

Hey anyone and everyone, I'm looking to possibly upgrade from a 1080ti to get the the 3080ti when it comes out (famous last words I know). I currently have a 650watt PSU and I know that won't cut it but the one area in PC building I'm lacking is understanding PSUs. I have read through the tier list and was looking at this 850watt SeaSonic (Link). Thanks for reading and responding about my pick or suggestions a different one. This is my Current Setup (except that I plan to get another 16GB of RAM PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor Purchased For $0.00 CPU Cooler NZXT Kraken X52 Rev 2 73.11 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Purchased For $0.00 Motherboard Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI CODE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Purchased For $0.00 Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory $95.99 @ Newegg Storage Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $0.00 Storage Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $0.00 Storage Samsung 860 Evo 2 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Purchased For $0.00 Video Card Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB STRIX GAMING Video Card Purchased For $0.00 Case Cooler Master MasterCase H500M ATX Mid Tower Case Purchased For $0.00 Power Supply EVGA GS 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Purchased For $0.00 Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit Purchased For $10.00 Monitor LG 27GL83A-B 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor Purchased For $0.00 Monitor LG 27GL83A-B 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor Purchased For $0.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $105.99 Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-01-09 19:45 EST-0500

I have a ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 TI....Which as 11GB of VRAM, and I've been fine for the past ~4 years. The only thing I'm missing out on right now is ray tracing. According to a recent Software Survey from Steam...most people use just around ~8GB and the vast percentage are under 8GB... so 10GB being the mid tier isn't too bad. Anyone have other suggestions

Recently there was a really bad storm in my area so after turning my computer off I unplugged it from the wall (because I had bad problems in the past with a diff. PC). After the storms pass I plug my PC back in and boot up and start gaming and have a 3rd of the FPS that I usually get...and my only solution is uninstalling the Drivers...and reinstalling them to fix the problem. If I simply turn my pc off and on...its perfectly fine...but the problem comes when my PC is off and I either unplug it or flip the PSU switch.

I do have a nVidia GPU, but there is no "Battery Boost" option (I am on Desktop). Also all drivers, Geforce Experience, and windows up to date Computer Specs • CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K • CPU Cooler: NZXT x52 AIO • Motherboard: Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI CODE • Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB DDR4-3200 • Harddrive Main: 2x Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Raid 0 • Hardrive Secondary: Samsung 860 Evo 2 TB • Graphics Card: ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 TI 11GB OC Edition • Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500M • PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA GS 650W 80+ Gold

So every time I unplug my computer from the wall...or flip the power switch on the Power Supply...my PC acts very weird. When I boot up a game like csgo then go into a Match...I have only 50-60 fps... instead of my normal 300+. I have found that completely uninstalling the Graphics Drivers and reinstalling them solved the problem...but if I unplug my PC or flip the switch....back to the 50 fps... Thanks in advance.
-
Seem to have fixed it...something just didn't boot correctly *shrugs
-
My GPU just spiked to 100% usage and I dropped to 50fps...what could cause this?
-
I just went into my bios..didn't change anything...Rebooted my pc and everything is back to normal...maybe my pc started weird or something >.>

Power Option: High Performance Temps: CPU: Low or mid 50s (Idle in the 40s) GPU: mid 50s, unsure of in game...but CSGO isn't very demanding OC: I don't know if my OC is stable but I haven't had any problems, like I've been fine for the last 2x weeks....now all of the sudden low fps Updates: Window has all recent updates, and drivers up to date
-
I've been doing a lot of gaming and getting amazing fps, but out of nowhere am only getting stuttering and 60-100fps....on my 144hz monitor...I'm looking at all my information and I can't see the problem... Windows and Drivers are fully updated...I notice the issue on CSGO the most because I'm usually at 250+fps....but now can barely hit 100. Thanks for all the help. This is probably what I'm going to do since I can't use a wifi extender due to a really thick wall in the middle of the house that blocks signal
-
So I'm currently helping my parents put internet in the opposite side of the house. The east side currently has the router and the wifi isn't strong enough to reach the west side...so the plan was to run a 100ft (30meter) ethernet chord to the west side and then setup another hub. I'm not really sure what would I need to setup this new hub... Also could I run another short 10ft (3meter) ethernet chord from that hub to a desktop without any worries of latency? If running that short chord from the 2nd hub would have a large impact...I can get 2x100ft(30meter) lengths. == I've never dealt with these kinds of questions/problems... much better at computers lol... thanks in advance
