Unlocked processors have the ability to control the multiplier so you can increase the GHz. Intel CPU's usually have a "K" at the end. (2500K, 4690K, 5820K, etc). Note that overclocking will void your warranty.

Thanks. but how will i know if it is unlocked?

On any Intel CPU, the 'k' or 'x' at the end means it's unlocked (If its an i5 or i7), There are also unlocked Pentiums (G3258, for example) from Intel that don't follow that trend. The only Intel series without unlocked CPUs are the Atoms, Core-M, Celerons and Core i3s.

Here are a list of popular unlocked CPUs in price order:

Pentium G3220 (Z97)

Pentium G3258 (Z97)

Core i5-4670k (Z87)

Core i5-4690k (Z97)

Core i7-4770k (Z87)

Core i7-4790k (Z97)

Core i7-5820k (X99)

Core i7-5930k (X99)

Core i7-5960x (X99)

NCASE M1 i5-12600kf  RTX 4060Ti FE Z690M-ITX  SF600 NH-L9x65 Chromax  LPX 32GB

Amds CPU that are unlocked are the Black Edition chips (but most FX to my knowledge are unlocked, as are the Athlons and Phenoms)

For intel, it is the K or X series chips
