I'm moving into a brand new home built in 2014, and i was hoping to run ethernet upstairs to my office, however its seems to be working out to be very expensive to do so. What are your opinions on powerline? The house obviously has brand new wiring which helps, but is it more reliable than WIFI in terms of dropouts, ping speeds and speed in general?

Also what powerline adapter would you recommend?

Ive heard that they can have interference when high powered devices like vacuum cleaners or washing machines are turned on is this true?

Thanks :)

Well, since my desk is standing on the wrong side of my room I can't use my ethernet ports (the ones in my wall) so I use powerline instead. Never had any issues with it and I only get around 2-3 ping more with the powerline.

P.S: I should really buy some longer cables or move my desk :P
