Ethernet or wireless adapter?

Go to solution Solved by lani100,

Hello friends. I have almost finished building my own pc. I have spent about 1000~ dollars (US) on this pc. I am wondering do I have a ethernet cable running along my walls to my internet modem, or just buy a usb/PCI adapter to reach my internet. I have my set up in my room. If I were to have an ethernet cable to receive the interwebs I would have to run a cable out of my room down a wall and a bit farther (75~ft i would need). Would it be better to get a wireless adapter though? Thank you for anyone who responds to this post.

A cable is always the best option but Wireless has come a long way these days.

I use a beefy router in combination with a Asus N53-usb Wireless card and get about the same speed as on cable and that's 2 floors up.

Ethernet - better connection and reliable, make sure to get SSTP for yourself though since it will be routed through the wall.

Wireless - Always PCI/PCI-E never go USB. weaker connection but if you get the right one just as reliable, easier to setup and less of a pain for no wires and routing.

Hopefully this is a little guide for you. Personally I would go with Ethernet for better connections.
