I didn't even realize that Dell made a 34in 3440x1440 21:9 curved LED monitor until today when Newegg sent me a sale notification for it. I've always loved the LG 34UC97 and actually had the opportunity to use it for a few weeks at my old job, but I couldn't get over the $1299 price tag, so for $849 I'm considering getting the Dell which has generally favorable reviews and less backlight bleed than the LG.

Are there other better 21:9's that I should be looking at? Given the fact that I've never heard of the Dell before today, I wanted to check before I buy.

Use: Gaming, productivity, photo/video editing, MS Visual Studio, movies & TV

im looking at buying one too.

the current options are

34um95 . like the 97 but not curved so a bit cheaper.

the samsung e790c which is curved but VA panel.

the dell you mentioned.

also there are the acer predator models coming out which look promising but super expensive

34um65 which is freesync but 2560x1080.

there is also an AOC monitor but apparently the backlight bleed is unbearable.

I favor the original 3440x1440 monitor: the LG 34UM95-P. It's cheaper than the curved flavors and I find the curve to be gimmicky. The AOC U3477PQU uses the same panel as the 34UM95-P but probably a better stand.

If you like the curve and don't mind paying extra for it, Dell is a great brand to go with. They will have the best stand and the best customer service.
