Epos setup?

Hey guys,

 

I'm not totally new to the world of epos and so on. My mom want's me to help her set up her new j2 560 epos machine. She said the main thing she wants done is to have to talking to the cash register. I'm not sure of the registers make or model unfortunately. But could anyone out there give me some tips and guides on setting up a j2 560 epos and have it working with register and so on? 

 

Do I need certain equipment / cables / software etc.. I
