Hey guys,

if you change your CPU for example from an i5 to an i7 (same socket) do you need to install any new drivers or do anything software related, or is it just swapping the CPUs and you're done?

Thank you!

Erhm i have never installed any drivers for cpu so its basically "your good to go" as long as you have the mobo drivers if you need and so on.

CPUs don't have any installable drivers. As long as the BIOS is proper for the CPU you're trying to use, it should work out of the box.

No. Changing CPU doesn't effect anything on OS side. If you have been running OC on old CPU, you will need to reset CMOS or load preferred settings on UEFI mobos. Otherwise you can't boot with it.
