they say:

*Before using the new Intel 4th Gen Core processors, we suggest that you first download the BIOS updater for new Intel 4th Gen Core Processors and then update the BIOS using this tool.

did you upgrade using this tool?

No thank you! going to try that :)

Edit: Thank you so very much! it worked! been trying for days at end to fix it.. (pretty simple fix in the end)

I wanted to upgrade my cpu from Intel Pentium G3220 to an i7-4790k. When I install the new cpu in my computer it won't boot. There is no signal to the monitor and no power to keyboard/mouse. When i reinstall the old cpu everything works normally. I have upgraded to the latest BIOS and can not seem to isolate the problem. Does anyone have suggastions to where the problem might lay? I know the i7 is overkill, but it is an ongoing upgrade.

Specs:

Corsair CX 500W PSU - ASUS B85M-G, Socket-1150 - Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 4GB - ZOTAC GeForce GTX 750 1GB PhysX CUDA -

Windows 8.1

if you overclocked the 3220 you may need to reset the bios.

nvrmind say your specs.

Edit again: what revison is your bios, it may need to be updated. altho personally I would get a z97 for that cpu.

B85M-G BIOS 2403, can not my MB support the i7. Tried the CMOS several times
