I cant really find an answer to this question with my google-fu so I figured I would ask here.

Can a system have multiply video cards in a non sli or crossfire configuration?

I ask this because i run multiple copies of games sometimes (like Eve Online). I've run 3 clients (sometimes more) at once on 3 monitors typically running the highest graphics settings on the middle monitor. With my current setup with a single 750ti I see a pretty big drop in performance. If i were to add a second 750ti and run the 2 side monitors with them would that actually work? Would it use the second card to run things to the other 2 monitors of does this not work this way?

Also I know I could just spend a little more and get a 960 or a 970 (which is within my budget) and solve this but I already thought about this and was curious if it could actually work.

You could probably do it with some sort of VM set up, but apparently you need AMD video cards for it.

That said, I think it'd be a lot simpler to just replace the 750Ti with a stronger video card.
