Gamestream Server

Is it possible to build a Server for in home gamestream / terminal Server for gaming for multiple users at the same time ? I thought about something like an vm Server , but what are the possibilities for GPU passthrougth etc. ?

I already googled and found that VMware suports GPU passthrought , how is the performance ?

Another thing i found is an nvidia grid GPU , but its very expensive , and i found no Benchmarks ...

I thought of this system becouse me and my 2 brothers want to buy some new gaming rigs. We thought about instead of buying everything 3 times, buying 1 xeon prosessor , 1 mainbord , 1 PSU etc. , i don t know if i ll need multiple gpus or if 1 is enogth. i guess everybody needs one GPU except for grid GPU . that means i could use multiple GPU s when my Brothers aren t playing .

Has anybody experiences with ideas like this ??

Or is this simply crap/ not worth the money ??

How is the performance ?? Dies gpu passthrought work well ??

I think the biggest issue here is to get enough bandwidth. You need a really good router to allow for multiple streams.

software is the issue. you could very easily do it with one user, but good luck attempting to do it with VMs

I guess the bandwidth is not the Problem ( Gigabit LAN all over the house ) i just found this https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Multi-headed-VMWare-Gaming-Setup-564/ on the Internet like 2 minutes ago , i dont know that much about vm s etc. There are no Benchmarks, anybody experiences with passthrought and what Kind of Hardware would i need for 3 users ??
